Quarterly ABA Meeting – 13th September 2022

The quarterly ABA meeting was held today (13th September 2022). All members attended along with David Goss from UKMHA and David Gostick from the Health & Safety Executive (HSE). During the meeting, it was agreed that the new Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) (ABA categories 1A, 1B, 3A and 3B) testing standards would be released in the first quarter of 2023.

The first draft of the standards has been completed and the technical sub-group working on the standards will meet again on 30th September 2022 to continue development. The next ABA quarterly meeting will take place on 30th November 2022 at RTITB, Telford.

Much time and effort has been spent creating a new way of working together for the benefit of the workplace transport industry and at the forefront of our minds during this process has been the improvement of Testing Standards, coupled with much clearer transparency for those utilising the accrediting bodies system.
