The Accrediting Bodies Association for Workplace Transport (ABA) is pleased to welcome Smart Awards as its newest member.
Smart Awards joins AITT, ITSSAR, Lantra, NPORS and RTITB, bringing the association’s membership to six organisations working together to support high standards in workplace transport training and testing.
Introducing Smart Awards
Smart Awards is an awarding organisation providing qualifications, apprenticeship assessments and industry schemes. Its work supports sectors including telecommunications, utilities, construction and highways, with a focus on developing skills and meeting employers’ needs.
Its addition to the ABA brings further experience in assessment and quality assurance to the association’s work.
Working together to improve standards
The ABA brings accrediting bodies together around a shared purpose: improving workplace transport safety through clear, consistent training and testing standards.
Common standards help employers and training providers understand the requirements behind accredited training. Each member operates its own accreditation arrangements, while contributing to the ABA’s collective work to maintain and improve standards across the industry.
Welcoming another member provides an opportunity to share experience, broaden participation and strengthen this work. For the ABA, growing membership supports its aim of bringing more accrediting bodies together in the interests of safer workplaces.
